Let the Fun Begin! (Glitch!) Empty
PostSubject: Let the Fun Begin! (Glitch!)   Let the Fun Begin! (Glitch!) EmptyTue Jul 31, 2012 11:28 pm

Not long ago...

The tavern was loud this time around. It was evening her time, probably even later when Tock walked into the rowdy building. There was honestly no place like Rorgar. She had come to treasure this world, even with her eccentric appearance that didn't quite match the setting, she had the most memories and adventures here. Plus, she'd made more friends in Rorgar than she did in Samora, where a reputation was building up that she couldn't quite get away from. She was in Rorgar to simply enjoy some leisure time, before wandering out to hunt trolls, or some other creature. The monsters here packed the most points, especially when she was training away from the towns. The forests housed the most dangerous creatures, and she'd rather be prepared with a group, than to venture alone. While she packed magical talent, she didn't have much might to back it up when it came to physical strength.

The ki-bracelets however helped immensely. It was a good thing she had them on, because there was really no knowing what was going to happen in a rowdy tavern, filled with rowdy patrons. Sometimes fight happened, but all for fun. It wasn't like an enemy in the Conduit could seriously harm her, unless the NPCs were too bothersome. Sometimes, she couldn't stand the NPCs.

Eyes trailed after her when she walked in, in a black leather bodysuit and a white guitar strapped to her back. Her crossbow hung from one side of her hip, as the other had her pistols. She appeared less armed than most present because she was evidently a magic user. She was also a regular in this world, so the NPCs took to recognizing Tock when she took a seat at the bar. Drinks and food in the Conduit succeeded in pleasuring her senses. She felt like she was actually partaking in a meal, or a drink, but she knew that she wasn't really eating in the world of Lourdes Toch.

No matter, it was time to enjoy some honeyed mead. "Give me three mugs for a warm up." She ordered with a fliratious grin. The tender chuckled before moving to fill up Tock's orders.

Let the Fun Begin! (Glitch!) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Let the Fun Begin! (Glitch!)   Let the Fun Begin! (Glitch!) EmptyWed Aug 01, 2012 1:08 am

Glitch opened the large oak door with little effort, the quiet of the virtual night ripped apart by the loud boisterous calls and rowdy sounds of general drinking. He smiled, a small grin at the expense of his surroundings. It always amazed him just how well they nailed the whole ‘being human’ thing with a bunch of what amounted to just lines of code. Of course it comforted him more to not think of them as just figments of programming, hell this is what he had built his life up around for the past decade and he didn’t want to be the reason the card house tumbled down.

His attire was slightly changed for the atmosphere. His coat, normally a sleek bikers jacket now took on more of the look of leather armor. His denim pants now made of more coarse fibers and his unseen shirt a simple cotton job. Where his pistol was normally stashed a simple flint lock now rested, more for intimidation then anything else. He had a crossbow in his bag, but he didn’t need it out right now.

Weaving his way through the bar he found himself dodging slopping beer and rowdy games of cards and whatever gambling device those seated chose for the night. Coin was being exchanged at a fast rate, both local currency and in some cases actual physical credits. It was tempting, but he didn’t want to get into a bar fight over some single pieces or dive into a most likely rigged game of dominoes or cards. Instead he saddled up to the bar next to a pale beauty, his smile growing large as he motioned to the barkeep for a pint.

“Why I live and breathe, if it isn’t the notorious Ms. Frosty. What a thing to find her here on Rorgar.”

He respected the woman, having worked with her a time or two, and knew she wasn’t someone to screw around with. Still he couldn’t help but joke with her, flashing a smile and seeing if he could get a laugh. Why not try to have a little social fun before he went out grinding in the depths of the forest.

Tock's attention was drawn away from the bartender when a man entered the tavern. A wide grin spread across her face, and she giggled, pretending to be coy. Tock liked to put up an appearance, even a flirtatious one at that, but she really meant nothing by it. She'd worked with Glitch before, and found him a really good player to have around, especially in teams. As a support character, she knew a leader when she saw one, and he had that quality about him.

"Frosty?" She said with a pale brow quirked, before she broke into laughter. "You know, I can accept that. It's gotte be all this white." She made a show of flipping her long white hair over her shoulder Wintry hues assessed Glitch with an amiable smile. "How are you doing? And yeah, I like it here... it's never boring."

A small wink fluttered between long dark lashes. Ruby lips pursed in thought, before she turned to the tender, three mugs sent her way. "How about three more, for my friend here." She said. The tender looked to Glitch with a careful eye, before going off to make more. She had enough coins to spend. She should at least enjoy the social interaction before wandering off, speaking of wandering.

"Any plans after? I was thinking about heading to the sketchy forests, or maybe the caves. I hear some trolls are causing some trouble at the bridge..." She circled her pale, elegant finger along the rim of her cup as she waited for his response. She would listen with a toothy grin between her plump, crimson lips. Tock enjoyed going on adventures, but even a little consistency was nice. Often, she worked with different people, but a familiar face or two was always welcomg to "Ms. Frosty," as Glitch dubbed her. She wondered what other interesting nicknames were out there for her.

Let the Fun Begin! (Glitch!) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Let the Fun Begin! (Glitch!)   Let the Fun Begin! (Glitch!) EmptyWed Aug 01, 2012 5:35 am

He kept his smile up as she spoke to him, accepting the drink offered to him graciously and never breaking her eye contact. Glitch swore to himself there was no way he would leave this bar letting her pay for his drinks. He knew it was damn nearly half way through the 21st century but he would do his best to show chivalry wasn’t dead, even if he wasn’t going to try to get into her pants. Though he couldn’t help but notice how nice those pants were.

“Trolls eh? Nasty brutes that pack a punch. Could skill fodder though. And if you get lucky you can get some decent loot from one of there dens. Well if your up for a travelling companion I would be more then happy to tag along.”

He watched her body language as he spoke, remarking on just how much of a tease she was. He expected it came with the package deal of having the background she does. All it meant to Glitch was she was fully aware of herself and knew the affects she could have. Glitch had always had a bit of a hang up with relationships in world. While he had done everything in his power to make it so this was the center of his own personal universe he still couldn’t get over that the girl next to him wasn’t real. It was just the projection of another person somewhere else in the world who most likely looked nothing like the figure in front of him. He knew he looked nothing like his digital packaging. So that thought always creeped in his head, gnawing at him like an unwanted parasite. He hated it, but he couldn’t help it.

Slamming the rest of his drink down he slid the now empty tankard away from him. He met her eyes once more and spoke.

“What say we…”

But before he could finish what he was saying he heard a large crash behind him. Instantly his hand went to the weapon strapped to his leg as he spun around. Standing before them now were four tall men all in worn black clothing. The men’s faces where covered in weeks old growth and the smell coming from them told an entire novel of what kind of people these where. Highwaymen where popular on Rorgar, both players and NPC’s harassed travelers and adventurers always looking for an exploit. It was just rare they came into a tavern.

“You two, your not from here. There’s a tax for your kind. Pay up!”

The lead man was several inches taller then the others with a nasty looking knife held firmly in his hands. Glitch didn’t know if this was a player or an NPC quite yet, but he did now he meant business. It was with that thought his mouth formed his response.

“Yeah, I don’t think.”

Let the Fun Begin! (Glitch!) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Let the Fun Begin! (Glitch!)   Let the Fun Begin! (Glitch!) EmptyWed Aug 01, 2012 3:35 pm

Nothing was as they appeared. Some people stuck to looking a lot like their real life personas. Tock rather liked the anonymity. Lourdes wasn't bad looking, she knew, with her tattoos and piercings and exotic features, the brunette felt better logging in with an entirely different appearance. She created Tock specifically for this world. At least her imagination wasn't all that bad, since Tock earned a celebrity-like reputation on Samora. Her looks, apparently, were quite popular, which reminded Lourdes of very good cosplayers at cons.

A secretive smile stretched across her crimson lips as he kept eye contact. Drinks came underway for the honeyed mead that would keep them briefly entertained. A little down time wasn't bad, since she was constantly going on quests. She was sure Glitch was that way as well. "Excellent!" She said, "and much will be had, I assure you."

She grabbed her mug to take a sip, letting the simulated taste roll across her tongue. She leaned a little forward, quite aware of the effect she could have because of her appearance - ethereal, fairy-like, they definitely garnered a lot of attention. Glitch wasn't the only person trying to get a read on Tock. Other eyes, including NPCs were casting glances now and then. Her smiled widened as he began to talk, and she wondered what exactly... did he have in... mind?

Before more could be said, they were sorely interrupted by a loud crash. Four men, highway men by the look of them glared in their direction. Tock rolled her eyes dramatically. It was probably the guitar, but she honestly didn't want to change Peggy's apperance, she was meant to be that musical instrument she had a real life talent with. She downed the rest of her drink, and slid the tankard across the table as she slowly turned, standing right beside Glitch to face the unwelcoming group.

"Pay up? Whatever happened to saying 'hello, how do you do?'" She teased, and subtletly cast a personal barrier around herself and Glitch. If things got physical, then they wouldn't be as affected by the blows. She toyed with her ki-bracelets. "That was very, very rude." The silence would've been unnerving, but Tock liked putting on a show. When the tall man with the nasty looking knife stepped forward, preparing to say something indecent to Tock, she closed the distance with a quick movement, and slammed the heel of her palm up his nose. The crunch resounded, so realistic. The gems in the ki-bracelets glowed as they assisted Tock, channeling some strength she wouldn't have had without them. The startling hit sent him stumbling back, and leaped back to perform a roundhouse kick that had him falling against his men.

She smiled sweetly, and peered over her shoulder to Glitch, "I think we're in trouble now. Sorry." She said as she ducked from an axe's swing.

"I think we're in trouble now. Sorry."

Glitch didn’t get a chance to respond as one of the goons charged him. He ducked the first blow, landing a fist to his opponents stomach before he had to move away to dodge a thrown chair from a second opponent. The bar around them erupted in violence, everyone weighing in the chaos. Tankards where flying, empty bottles smashing against the wall and patrons alike.

“Just a little trouble!”

Glitch reached the bar, grabbing a half filled bottle of unknown amber liquor, an apologetic look flashed at the bartended before he reared around and smashed the heavy glass bottle against a black cloaks head, the smash and splash making a satisfying sound against the roughians skull. He fell to the ground, rivulets of booze running out of the grease mop of hair.

“Alright maybe not just a little.”

He dodged another flying chair but got hit in the arm by a mug. The split second of pain flashed across his body before being dulled by the receivers resting against his real life head. Conduit wanted you to feel you got hurt, not actually get hurt. Scooping up the cracked porcelain cup he chucked it back in the general direction before rejoining with his new companion.

“Well at least we can check bar fight off the to-do list for tonight.”

As he spoke he bobbed out of a punch and knocked the random man out.
